Overview & Highlights

Welcome to the Fowler Dining Room, a unique culinary gem located at 920 Crabtree Ln in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This innovative restaurant offers a delightful dining experience where gourmet food meets educational excellence. Run by students from the culinary institute, every meal reflects their creativity, passion, and skill. The atmosphere is vibrant, yet inviting, making it the perfect spot for both casual lunches and special occasions.

The menu at Fowler Dining Room showcases an impressive array of dishes that highlight fresh, high-quality ingredients. For lunch, the wood-fired flatbreads are a must-try, with options like the Napoli Flatbread featuring San Marzano sauce, mozzarella, and napoli salami, to the earthy Funghi Flatbread adorned with roasted mushrooms and black truffle. Each flatbread, priced at just $8, boasts layers of flavor that will leave you craving more.

For heartier options, the Buccatini Amatriciana stands out. This classic Italian dish is crafted with extruded pasta, ovendried cherry tomatoes, and HGTC pancetta, resulting in a savory, satisfying meal for $12. It's a salute to Italian culinary traditions, and the execution by the students is admirable.

No meal is complete without treating your sweet tooth, and Fowler does not disappoint. The Blueberry Pecan Brown Butter Cake, accompanied by local blueberry and thyme compote and peach ice cream, offers a delightful blend of flavors for just $8. Or, indulge in the SC Peach Cobbler served with cardamom ice cream—simple, yet exquisite.

Customer reviews attest to the quality of food and service at Fowler Dining Room. Jennifer Elwell notes, "Excellent food 9 out of 10 times," while Tim McGinnis commends the opportunity for the community to enjoy gourmet meals at reasonable prices. However, as a student-run establishment, some service aspects may require a little more training, as Sue Kobiela points out.

Overall, Fowler Dining Room is not just a restaurant; it's a passion project that showcases the talents of aspiring chefs and provides them an invaluable platform to hone their skills. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity, but trust me, the experience is well worth the wait. Come, savor each dish, and leave with fond memories—and perhaps a pastry or two from their bakery area!

Excellent food 9 out or 10 times. Each meal is different and prepared and served by the current students.

Excellent experience. Obviously it's a school so I can only say the student waitress needs more training on all aspects.

I have eaten here several times and enjoyed every meal. Students prepare and serve, and provide the community an opportunity to eat gourmet for a reasonable price. Terrific idea and operation!

Wow! What an experience! The food was so amazing and extremely high quality. Come prepared to try new things! I brought my family here when they were visiting and everyone was so impressed. We’ll definitely be back again. Check their website to see what menu they are offering for certain dates and make sure to book about a month in advance.

We love eating here. You have to make reservations in advance but it's worth it. The cooks are students at the culinary institute and are very good at what they do. The food is great and the price is very reasonable. The servers are also students and are very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and lunch and both times were great. We hope to come back next semester for dinner. Thank you to all the students and their teachers. On the way out we saw the backery and shared some pasteries. We were full but could not resist. It's also worth visiting.

A must-try place if you're in Myrtle Beach! The students prepared delicious high quality food which makes the price unbeatable. We were served a 3 course meal with our bistro lunch reservation. I had a chilled corn soup, crispy pork belly, and peach cobbler. All were delicious, well crafted, and had a variety of textures and flavors to enjoy throughout each dish. The timing of the service of dishes was perfect and I left extremely full (though that didn't stop me from grabbing some treats to go at the bakery counter next door). The tables were safely distanced, the staff is masked, and customers are also required masks before arriving at their table. Wish we made a second reservation during our stay!

Wow! It's like going to an upscale restaurant. Great food. Great service. Must try! Allow weeks for a reservation. They sell out early.

Amazing dinner! Finals night was a hit!Pork belly was on point, jacob did a great job. She crab soup approved with honors from my Maryland native wife. Found out our server provided the recipe for our dessert... Wow! Many proud parents in dinning room.
